Allen & Alinea: one man cooks through the Alinea cookbook

When Allen Hemberger dined at Grant Achatz’s pioneering Alinea restaurant in Chicago in 2008, he had no idea it would set him off on a 5 year odyssey to the heart of creativity with molecular gastronomy as his muse. In other words, he spent 5 years cooking through every recipe in the book–arguably the most complex and advanced cookbook on the planet. This video is more a meditation on his journey than an actual documenting of his process.
